If you need to get someone to stop calling you, I highly recommend Google voice.
Not only can it block callers you don't want, but it can take over this function if you have a cell phone that doesn't have call blocking. PLUS, the call blocking just makes it sounds like your number has been disconnected... it's wonderful.
The beauty of it is that you can forward your old numbers to Google voice, so even if old friends or old crazy family are calling your old numbers, Google voice can still block them.
